Through working with Home Support, Mark was able to receive the support he needed to improve his living conditions and take a step toward positive change.

Mark was referred to us by Adult Social Care (ASC). He had been working with a range of services, including the Police, Drug and Alcohol Team, and was waiting for a Keyworker from Your Support. At the time, Mike was living in poor and unhealthy conditions, which contributed to his ongoing struggles.

This was the fourth referral made for support with a boiler, each previous attempt had ended with Mark disengaging from services. Additionally, Mark had a number of friends staying in his house, some of whom were financially exploiting him, which led to police involvement.

A visit was arranged with ASC, and we had a conversation with Mark about the importance of engaging with services and following through with support. Mark reassured us that this time was different and that he was committed to making changes in his life. He was actively engaging with Cirtek House to address his substance misuse, marking a significant step in his recovery.

Home Support liaised with the engineers who had previously attempted to install the boiler but were unsuccessful. A new installation date was set, and Mark’s Keyworker met with the engineers at the property to ensure the work was completed.

In addition to the boiler installation, Mark was referred to Your Support to assist with his benefits, providing him with further financial stability.

Mark expressed his gratitude for the support he received: "Thank you for your support, it feels amazing to be able to have a bath after so long."

Thanks to the collaboration of various services, Mark’s living conditions were greatly improved, and he is now on a path to making lasting changes in his life.
